2 cups leavening flour
1 cup of sugar (200 grams)
½ cup of vegetable oil
½ cup of water (120 milliliters)
1 handful of wheat flour (for the mold)
1 jet of vegetable oil (for the mold)
1 pinch of icing sugar
Steps to follow to make this recipe:
1- We preheat the oven over medium heat (about 180 ºC) and prepare the mold for the vegan orange wet cake, smearing it with the oil and flouring it well.
2- We take the well-washed oranges, reserve the zest of the skins on one side and squeeze them to get the juice.
3- We place the orange juice in a bowl and mix it with the vegetable oil, the zest and the water or vegetable milk with the help of a hand mixer until the ingredients are well integrated. You can use an electric mixer if you want to beat the dough of the vegan orange cake but it is not necessary.
4- Add the sugar to the bowl and mix perfectly. Then we incorporate the sifted leavened flour little by little at the same time that we mix with the kitchen rods until fully integrated.
5- We pour the cake dough with vegan orange juice in the prepared pan and bake it for approximately 45/50 minutes, or until we see that by clicking with a stick, skewer or toothpick in the center, it comes out clean.
6- Once baked, let the vegan orange cake cool on a rack, remove from the mold and decorate to your liking. You can sprinkle it with a little icing sugar on top or dare to make a frosting with coconut whipped cream for example. I hope you love it!
